What was your major/degree and why did you choose it?

I initially came to Oak Hills to get a 1 year bible certificate so I could assist with a youth investment ministry on the Iron Range. Towards the end of the school year I was encouraged by many professors to consider staying for Pastoral Ministries program.

"Please read the syllabus carefully before Wednesday, along with chapter one," a professor would say on the first day of class. Some professors would have students sign the back of the syllabus, and some would even hand out a syllabus quiz!

Over the course of next week Oakies will be hustling and bustling trying to turn in their final papers, and studying for final exams. Students will be spotted late at night in the library munching on sugary snacks, chugging caffeinated drinks, and roaming the hallway dragging their half-asleep bodies like zombies.

If you’re a parent, chances are your laundry list of things to worry about began the day you held your newborn baby for the first time. How will I keep this tiny being alive? How can I protect her from the dangers and evils in this world? Will we be able to afford to send her to college?

I’m going to answer a question that tends to get asked in students’ minds quite often and is perhaps not verbalized as often.  What can a degree at a Christian college like Oak Hills do for me in the real world?  The truth is a biblical education can do a lot and you can be a great influence in your work environment too.

Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) is a program that allows High School students to take college-level courses and recieve college credits while still in High School. This amazing program is open to any Minnesota State High School student who is in 10th - 12th grade. Some of you out there may already know about this, but you may not have found out just what it can do for you.  Now is the time to find out how you can kickstart your Christian education and save money on college tuition.
