Ahh… Christmas Break. Such a sweet sound. Your finals are done. The pressure of course work has been lifted from your shoulders. You are now ready to head out! YAY! Good job getting through the final days of the 2016 Fall Semester. Say goodbye to your friends and professors for now, but come back this spring to say hi again.
30 Days Until Spring Semester
Finals Week is upon us and things are really taking a turn for Oak Hills' students. Take Landon, for example. Here we see a prime example of how working hard can quickly turn into hardly working:
Oak Hills is Thankful For...
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (KJV) Philippians 4:6

#HumansOfOakHills
Oak Hills: personal on purpose. While the popular page Humans of New York and a plethora of others are posting pictures and comments from strangers, our little community contains people who are strangers only to the rest of the world. Using #humansofoakhills we are hoping to open our campus up to the rest of the world through these subtle, insightful snapshots.

Well, the first semester at Oak Hills is flying by! The new dorm is moving along very quickly, and the students should be moving in after the first of the year. How exciting is that?
Fall Preview day 2016 Through Our New Counselor's Eyes
It was great to get to know new students during Fall Preview Day. It’s one thing to be communicating with students over the phone or through an email, but seeing someone face-to-face, learning about their passions, and seeing them in pursuit of their future by taking a campus tour was enlightening and truly helped me meet the needs of individual students.

Fall Preview days as come and gone for another year. We had a great day with the prospective students that came to tour and spend the day with us at Oak Hills. The new residence hall (Thompson Hall) was a great hit. The students were able to tour the facility to visualize where they will be living when they come to campus. They were able to visit with the professors and advisors to get an idea of what their classes will look like. Our Financial Aid director Matt Myrick also spoke on the importance of getting your financial aid done in a timely manner. We had great visits with each of the students.
Most Important Factors for Choosing a College: Campus Life
College is completely different from high school, in that it's an entire way of living, not simply a classroom. College will potentially be your home for the next four years: you'll meet your roommate and best friends, learn valuable life lessons, find your favorite late-night study spot, and discover the righteous path that God has planned for you.
Oak Hills Voted #2 College for Lowest Student Loan Debt in Minnesota
Last week, Oak Hills Christian College received a pleasant email from LendEdu, a transparent marketplace for student loans and student loan refinance.
FAFSA Changes for 2017–18
Starting this October (2016), FAFSA will be available three months earlier than before. Additionally, families will be recording prior-prior year tax information. This means that for a student in college during the 2017-2018 school year, his or her family will be recording earnings from the 2015 tax year.
